Anglophone Africa Regional Workshop on Culture and Peace, 19-23 May 2025, Harare, Zimbabwe

• This regional experience-sharing will provide a unique platform for peer exchange on culture and peace initiatives, linking them to broader governance and gender topics. Cultural actors, artists, and regional experts will join selected discussions and field visits.
• The goal is to bring diverse perspectives across sectors to discuss the opportunities and challenges of culture’s role in sustainable peace, and to explore the potential of ‹Culture and Peace› to inform projects in other thematic areas.
• It will be of practical relevance for your work with many opportunities to shape the discussion based on your experience, challenges and questions.

  • Dates: Week of 19-23.05.2025
  • Location: Harare, Zimbabwe (more information will follow soon)
  • Accomodation: Bronte Hotel, Harare (https://brontehotel.com/). Please indicate your date of arrival and departure in the registration form, room reservations will be made by the organising team, please note that each participant must settle the accommodation bill independently on site.
  • Travel from airport to the hotel: Airport shuttle can be arranged by the hotel (further information will follow).
  • Visa: please follow here the process relevant for your country. In case of problem, contact the organising committee.
  • Participants expected: The workshop is a unique opportunity for FDFA/SDC National Programme Officers/officers in charge of culture, governance, gender and/or peace projects in the region as well as interested Head of Cooperation/Deputies, Policy Advisors and Human Security Advisors, for a joint reflection and to examine possible further collaboration (two persons per representation).
  • Costs: Transportation to Harare, accommodation and food allowances are to be covered by the global budgets of the sending representations.
