• Independent External Evaluations on SDC's overall Governance portfolio

  The latest "Independent External Evaluation of SDC’s Engagement in the Field of Good Governance and Rule of Law from 2017 to 2022" has been conducted in 2023 and concluded in January 2024. It includes also a focus on transversal/cross-cutting Governance. Its final report (1st part: overall report / 2nd part: 8 case studies), with SDC's Senior Management Response integrated (signed on 26.04.2024) is available on the platform ARAMIS (publication platform for all independent external evaluations funded by the Swiss Federal State).
  SDC's Senior Management Response is also available in French, on request.

  • Promoting Good Governance in a Global Context of Democratic Backslide [Evaluation]

    Inclusive and accountable governance is fundamental to delivering sustainable development. The 2023 Evaluation highlights positive results of SDC’s engagement on governance, including in challenging country contexts.

  The one before, named "Evaluation of SDC’s Performance in Governance Programming and Mainstreaming" had been concluded in March 2015. Its final report with SDC's Senior Management Response integrated is also availalbe on ARAMIS.

The network aims to contribute to enhance the thematic learning, quality and effectiveness of SDC and partners programmes in the field of Governance as a broad terminology, and more particularly:

• in the 3 main thematic fields of Democratic governance, Decentralisation & Local Governance, as well as combatting anti-corruption & Asset recovery.
• cross-cuttingly, in all other sectors/themes of development cooperation and humanitarian aid. Digital Governance is also a rising theme to be applied transversally.
• with some dedicated tools developed by and for the network.
