Democratic governance
Switzerland strengthens democratic governance and values, including in more and more contexts of democratic backslide and rise of authoritarian rule. It has issued in 2018 a SDC Policy on Democratisation, Decentralisation and Local Governance [EN]. Democratic governance is considered a essential to address the multidimensional factors of poverty and exclusion. For that task, the Governance network focuses on the following 5 main aspects of democratic governance:
